No Essential Oil without Vegetable Oils
The ultimate holiday scent: coconut vegetable oil
Opening your jar of coconut vegetable oil is already a bit like being on vacation. Multi-purpose, it is recommended for curly or very damaged hair to make a protective mask, for cutaneous use to nourish dry skin and after sun exposure, but also on hands and nails. Its healing properties make it a gentle and effective aftershave balm. Finally, it can also be used as a makeup remover.
The base for my essential oils: organic Calendula macerate
DIY: Ultra-easy recipe for after-sun repair oil.
Pour 35 drops of Lavender Essential Oil into 50 ml of Calendula macerate then apply regularly to the burn (sun, barbecue, fire, etc.) until improvement.
This blend can also be useful for bites, irritation of the folds due to excessive perspiration, for example, and even for mild, localized pain. Gentle and soothing, it penetrates the skin and quickly calms.
Tip : You can mix your Lavender Aspic Essential Oil with your usual cream to boost its properties.
For those who can't sit still: organic Arnica macerate
Pure or in synergy with calophyllum, calendula, or hazelnut, arnica is the ally of athletes and adventurers to massage at any time of day to soothe aching muscles and joints. DIY: Recipe for a solution for bruises and bumps. Pour 10 drops of Italian Helichrysum (Immortelle) EO into 50 ml of Arnica macerate.
3 Essential Oils to Complete Your First Aid Kit
The Total: Peppermint EO
Is my body being battered by nausea, vomiting, motion sickness, indigestion, a hangover, or a combination? I breathe in Peppermint essential oil in deep breaths and take a drop neat under my tongue. It's also a great help against headaches and fatigue while driving, for example. In this case, I apply 1 drop of Peppermint EO to my forehead or temples (avoiding it near my eyes). It also provides a very pleasant cooling effect.
Cleanse and repair: Tea Tree EO
Small acne pimples, parasites, wounds, minor oral discomforts, ... I take out my Tea Tree EO and massage 3-4 drops 3 times a day for 5 to 6 days. I also use it to disinfect my utensils and shoes at the end of the day by mixing the EO with talc.
The essential for backpackers: Organic Java Citronella EO
One bottle, 3 uses:
- protect yourself from mosquitoes
- soothe the itching of bites (for mosquitoes that have still crossed its natural barrier).
- relieve aches and pains
Java Citronella EO can be used in a diffuser but can also be massaged into the skin. Caution: always dilute it in a carrier oil.
The best thing to spray at the end of the day
My soothing lotion based on organic hydrosols
Less well-known than vegetable oils and essential oils, hydrosols offer great solutions for skin sensitized by the sun, sea water, or pool water. This 100% organic, natural, and preservative-free synergy of 3 aromatic hydrosols (Roman Chamomile, Lemon Balm, and Organic Immortelle) has immediate soothing and refreshing properties. It is also excellent as an aftershave or after hair removal and can be sprayed all over the body, including for children and pregnant women.
Precautions for use: Avoid Lavender Aspic, Tea Tree and Immortelle Essential Oils during the first 3 months of pregnancy, as well as Java Citronella EO, which, moreover, must always be diluted in a vegetable oil before being applied to the skin. Peppermint EO should not be used by pregnant and breastfeeding women, children under 6 years old and sensitive individuals.
