A clinical study shows that the use of true lavender essential oil, through its soothing and cleansing action, has strong healing powers.
Episiotomy affects more than 60% of women during childbirth
120 women who had undergone an episiotomy during childbirth participated in a clinical study* 1 to evaluate the potential contribution of true lavender EO to the healing process. Half of them were treated with olive oil containing 1.5% essential oil and sitz baths with 5 to 7 drops of lavender EO in 4 liters of water twice a day for 10 days. The other 60 women in the control group received routine care with Povidone-iodine. On the 10th day, the study demonstrated that the group of women treated with lavender was less prone to pain, had no cases of edema greater than 2cm, and saw redness significantly reduced.
