As you know, we have recently been in lockdown! However, confinement should not rhyme with boredom and series all day long! This might be the perfect time to refocus on yourself and do things you don't usually have time to do. In this article, discover our 7 “well-being/health” activities during confinement!
1. Exercise at home!
We can never say it enough, doing a sporting activity is essential for your health. And if your favorite gym is closed, why not do your sport at home? There is no shortage of exercises and here are some examples:
- Jumping rope : This complete exercise works the lower body but also tones the abs, arms and shoulders. Skipping rope is ideal for having a flat stomach this summer and for gaining endurance and avoiding cellulite problems.
- Doing core training : There's nothing like it to work your abs! All you need is a mat at your disposal. Rest on your elbows and hold for 30 seconds… 1 minute!
- If you jog regularly why not invest in a treadmill for example.
Have you overdone your exercises a little and are now suffering from cramps or muscle problems ? Use essential and vegetable oils to relieve yourself!
Wintergreen essential oil
The favorite essential oil of great athletes, it is ideal in cases of muscle problems or cramps . Wintergreen essential oil is composed of more than 95% methyl salicylate , an active ingredient commonly used in pharmacies for its analgesic effects.
Usage tips :
- Local use: 3 to 4 drops 3 to 4x/day to be diluted in vegetable oil.
Arnica vegetable oil
If you want to strengthen the effect of the essential oil, opt for Arnica vegetable oil, known for its anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties.
2. Take care of yourself naturally!
Not being able to go out doesn't mean not taking care of yourself and your body! The sun is coming back and with it the desire to have beautiful skin and hair.
Make a mask for great hair!
Which vegetable oils?
- Restorative and nourishing, Avocado vegetable oil can be used on dry hair.
- Castor vegetable oil: a little extra, it promotes the growth of hair but also nails !
Hair care:
- Once a week, massage 1 to 3 tablespoons of avocado oil into clean, damp hair. Heat the oil in your hands then massage from roots to ends. Finish with the scalp, softening it well. Leave to sit under a warm towel for at least 1 hour and up to overnight. Rinse with a mild shampoo.
Take the time to remove makeup correctly
To remove makeup, nothing like coconut vegetable oil ! Coconut vegetable oil is very effective even for waterproof mascara. In just one step, you nourish your eyelashes and tone your eye contour thanks to its antioxidant effects and its vitamin content . You also remove makeup residue. Then rinse with an aqueous solution.
Vitamin-rich skin!
If your skin feels tight, dehydrated or dry, consider taking care of it. As we said in our blog article: “Aromatherapy for women”, Rosehip , Cranberry or evenArgan can be formidable allies for all ages and all skin types!
Healthy glow synergy:
With spring arriving, we have the tip for nourished skin and a guaranteed healthy glow! Carrot vegetable oil rich in beta-carotene will brighten your complexion and even more so in duo with Apricot Kernel vegetable oil (3 drops of each vegetable oil in the hand to mix and apply to the face and body .)
Please note that if you have dry skin, a cream is still necessary at least once a day. Oils are not always enough to completely rehydrate, but they help in the process by strengthening the epidermal cement.
3. Treat your damaged hands
Washing your hands is the precautionary measure we hear everywhere at the moment. Washing your hands and using hydroalcoholic gel is essential, but it makes your hands dry and damaged ... Here's a tip to find baby's hands soft and hydrated!
Shea butter
Shea butter is excellent for dry hand problems. And yes, it contains monounsaturated fatty acids (omega 9), a little more than half saturated fatty acids (including stearic acid in particular, cleansing and in good affinity with the skin and hair) and finally a lot of unsaponifiables known to be anti-inflammatory.
In combination with 1 drop of Rosemary verbenone essential oil, a dab of shea butter in the palm of your hand will work even more miracles.
4. Boost your energy
“The less we do, the less we want to do!” » , this saying well known to all should not prevent you from being motivated to face your days. We also think of the caregivers who must show a lot of courage and motivation at this time in our countries.
Peppermint essential oil
Known and recognized for its energizing properties , Peppermint essential oil acts as a mental tonic, it acts on your nervous system to restore your morale and give you the necessary boost .
Grapefruit essential oil
In the citrus category, Grapefruit essential oil has undeniable qualities to help you regain your good mood and your energy . Its smell creates a joyful atmosphere and its energizing active ingredients help chase away dark thoughts.
5. Do yoga!
During this stressful time, learn to relax and why not do yoga sessions at home using mobile applications or videos. Also note that essential oils can accompany the yoga session and even improve your breathing.
Ylang-ylang essential oil
It is possible to start your session with this very flowery essential oil. “It will remind you of vacations in the sun and bring joy of living .” In its practice, this essential oil of Ylang-ylang is used to promote “ emotional balance ”.
Frankincense essential oil
“Mystical and relaxing, Frankincense essential oil allows you to be in a meditative state .” We will not forget to mix this oil with Jojoba vegetable oil and not to apply it pure to the skin. (Example: 10 ml of Jojoba vegetable oil + 20 drops of Frankincense).
True lavender essential oil
At the end of the session, relax with true lavender essential oil to completely soothe yourself until final relaxation .
6. Relax and take some time for yourself in a nice bath!
Take some time for yourself ! This also involves relaxation and why not, a nice hot bath with essential oils?
Bathing therefore not only reduces stress reactions to promote healing, but also improves immune function and the regulation of pH levels through exposure to high heat.
At this time, it may be interesting to add 10 to 15 drops of Ravintsara essential oil to a large adult bath. As you know, water and oil do not mix, so either:
- Add the drops to a dab of shower gel, bath oil or honey (ideal to benefit from the moisturizing and gentle effect of honey).
- with coarse cooking salt or even Himalayan salt (to benefit from its mineralizing properties) or even milk.
Once the essential oil is diluted or absorbed or emulsified, put everything under a jet of water, which will micronize and disperse the essential oil into mini droplets evenly. When I get into the bath, all these mini droplets will go directly into my skin and as the heat dilates the pores, effectiveness is guaranteed.
Nothing stops you from making synergies by not exceeding 15 drops in total. Pleasure guaranteed depending on the mood of the day!
