Distilled from the star-shaped fruits of Illicium verum, star anise essential oil, also known as badian, has a distinctive warm, aniseed scent, immediately reminiscent of liquorice.

Traditionally prized for supporting digestive well-being, it helps with periods of difficult digestion, feelings of heaviness or lack of appetite. When used in a targeted manner, it is part of an approach to comfort after heavy or irregular meals.

Star anise essential oil is also traditionally known to support the body during certain seasonal sensitivities, although its use is not recommended in diffusion. It is generally reserved for supervised use, either orally or in diluted form.
